In agriculture, wood chips can be used as a high-quality substrate for cultivating edible fungi, providing nutrients for the growth of mycelium; after fermentation, it can also become an organic fertiliser to improve soil and enhance soil fertility.
In industry, wood chips are an important raw material for making fibreboard and particleboard, which are widely used in furniture manufacturing and building decoration. At the same time, it can also be used as a biomass fuel, releasing clean energy when burned for heating and power generation.
In addition, wood shavings can also be used to make pet bedding, because of its good water absorption and deodorisation, loved by pet owners; in gardening, wood shavings are laid on the roots of plants, which not only retains water and moisture, but also inhibits the growth of weeds. Small wood chips play a role that should not be underestimated.
